Long Description

Hanalei Colony Resort I1 is unique among north shore Kauai condo resorts. Recently voted one of Travel + Leisure's top 20 favorite resorts, these vacation rentals are directly on the path to follow, just take a few steps and you're on the sand. And I1 is the closest building, directly on the beach. You can also take advantage of the restaurant and spa onsite, or prepare your own food in your apartment's full kitchen or on the gas grills provided. Pool, jacuzzi and barbecue are conveniently close. This condo has a large shady lanai that puts you 10 steps from the sand. There are two bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with two twin beds. Both bedrooms can be closed off from the shared living areas with wooden louver doors that preserve the refreshing airflow while providing visual privacy. Note that sound will still carry, so if you're streaming a late-night movie, be sure to keep the volume low. The living and dining areas are comfortably furnished and there are spectacular beach views from the large picture windows. There's a full bath and a half bath. While there are no televisions or cable television service in the complex, wifi is provided so you won't be completely cut off from the modern world. (Only as cut off as you want to be.) In addition to Hanalei Colony Resort I1's beautiful interior and views, and the beach just in front, guests can enjoy the swimming pool, jacuzzi, barbecue grills, and guest laundry room. You can walk next door to the Opakapaka Bar and Grill. Also located just across the parking lot is the Hanalei Day Spa. Just ten minutes past the charming town of Hanalei, you'll find that shopping and dining options are conveniently close. It's the perfect Kauai vacation rental for proposals, honeymoons, anniversaries, and other romantic occasions. While wonderfully furnished and right next to the beach, please know that the development was built in simpler times. The units are smaller and have kitchens to match. Some normal amenities will be absent given the space and purposeful attempt to honor the simplicity of earlier times: you won’t find a dishwasher or washing machine in any of the units (there is a laundry room on the premises), and most units have no televisions (though wifi is available for those of us who can't escape work or want to stream our favorite shows). As with most homes on Kauai, this vacation rental is NOT air conditioned. Although this home has internet, the speed and reliability cannot be guaranteed due to the remote location and the service being provided by a third-party. Driving Directions

Follow the airport exit signs (Ahukini Road, Hwy 570).  When exiting the airport, you'll come to a stoplight — the junction of Ahukini and Kuhio Hwy (Hwy 56).  Make a right turn onto Hwy 56 and stay on this road until you arrive at the entrance to Hanalei Colony Resort.  The resort is located five miles past Hanalei.  Look for the Hanalei Colony Resort sign on the right shortly after the double one-lane bridges.  The physical address is 5-7130 Kuhio Highway. You will be on the ground floor of building I in unit I-1.

Cancellation Policy

For reservations cancelled 61 or more days prior to your contracted check-in date, you will receive a full refund of all money paid. Reservations cancelled 31-60 days prior to your contracted check-in date will be assessed a 50% cancellation penalty. For reservations cancelled 30 or fewer days prior to arrival, no refund will be made except for the cleaning fee. Any unused portions of the contracted reservation dates are non-refundable. Any interruption of services within the property, or inclement weather during your stay, will not serve to void or cancel the rental agreement.

GUEST RENTAL AGREEMENT You must return this contract within 7 days or your reservation is subject to cancellation. Your booking deposit - consisting of 25% of the total cost of your rental and 100% of trip insurance (if selected) - will be charged at the time you reserve. Reservations cancelled for non-receipt of contract are liable for all applicable cancellation penalties, as outlined below. If your reservation begins in the next 14 days, you must cancel within 48 hours of reservation to avoid cancellation fees. The fee for a lost (or unreturned) garage door opener is $150. Because the next guest will require keys, opener, and parking pass, you will not be able to avoid the replacement charge by mailing the items back to us. Please note that a $75 charge will also apply for keys that have been locked in the unit instead of being placed back in the lockbox at checkout. ____ CONDITION OF PREMISES: The property and contents are privately owned. The Property is rented with Owner's furnishings and Rental Agent will not be responsible for providing additional furnishings or equipment. No items belonging to the Owner shall be removed from the property. Should any equipment be out of order (including but not limited to hot tubs, washing machine), Rental Agent will undertake reasonable efforts to remediate reported problems during normal business hours. Please keep in mind that being on a remote island can often delay the receiving of parts and repairs. There will be no refunds for such inconvenience. Guest authorizes Rental Agent or property Owner to repair damages or loses caused by Guest or invitees of Guest, at the expense of Guest. Guests are required to notify us of any defects or problems associated with the property IMMEDIATELY, including but not limited to, appliances, audio/visual equipment, furnishings, hot tubs, jacuzzis, and pools, etc. Please be careful with items that you put down the garbage disposal. At home you might be able to put skins or vegetable leaves down your disposal but the one in your rental may stop up. We ask that you be very cautious. Also, please do not turn the dial on the refrigerator colder than the recommended setting. Doing so will cause the appliance to shut down. If you stop up the disposal or cause the refrigerator to stop working, we will need to charge you for the service call. Do not move furniture. It may cause damage, and this damage will NOT be covered by your damage waiver. ____ ACCESS TO PREMISES: Owner or Rental Agent may enter premises for the following reasons: Assessing damages or malfunctions, to perform repairs and/or maintenance, to supply services agreed upon, including but not limited to, pest control, if the unit is for sale (we will provide 2 days notice to show the unit at a reasonable hour), or in case of emergency. We reserve the right to enter the property any time for the purpose of safekeeping and/or prevention of further damage. ____ NEIGHBORHOOD CONSTRUCTION: We are not responsible for any construction noise or inconvenience that may occur during your stay. No refunds will be given. ____ SMOKING: All properties are smoke-free. Guests may smoke outside in specially designated areas only. Please dispose of all smoking materials appropriately and do not discard on the grounds. Smoking indoors or on the lanai will result in a minimum $250 additional charge for smoke mitigation. ____ PETS: Pets are not allowed in the home or on the property. ____ CLEANING: The cleaning fee is mandatory and non-refundable. Mid-stay cleaning(s) may be required for extended rental periods at Guests expense. Maid service is not included. If you would like additional maid service, it may be arranged for an additional cost. Cleaning fees are subject to change. The cleaning fee covers laundering one set of sheets per bed and one set of towels per guest. You are welcome the use the fresh sheets/towels available, but please launder and replace the used ones or you may be assessed an excess laundry fee of $35/load. ____ SUBJECT TO CHANGE: Advertised amenities are subject to change without notice or compensation. Changes can occur after a reservation is made due to a sale of unit, remodeling, mechanical failure, or servicing. Should a property be made unavailable for any reason beyond the control of Rental Agent, Rental Agent may substitute (at their discretion) another property comparable or better. If the substitute is of lesser value, refunds may be made.
